Publication Process

Call for Papers

The journal announces a Call for Papers for upcoming issues.

Researchers are invited to submit original and unpublished work relevant to the themes of big data, smart cities, and related fields.

Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts electronically via the journal’s designated submission platform (EasyChair).

Submissions must adhere to the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines.

Initial Screening

The editorial team conducts a preliminary review to check:

Relevance to the journal’s scope

Basic formatting and ethical standards

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening proceed to the peer review stage.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Reviewers do not know the authors’ identities and vice versa.

Each manuscript is typically reviewed by two or more independent experts.

Reviewers assess the quality, originality, methodology, and significance of the research.

Review Feedback and Decision

Based on reviewers’ comments, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:

Accept with or without minor revisions

Request major revisions and resubmission

Reject

Authors are informed of the decision along with reviewer feedback.

Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are requested, authors revise the manuscript accordingly and resubmit within the stipulated time.

Revised submissions may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers.

Final Acceptance

Once the manuscript meets the required standards, it is accepted for publication.

The editorial team performs a final check for formatting, language, and completeness.

Publication

Accepted articles are published online on the Journal of Big Data & Smart City website.

The journal is open access, making articles freely available to the public.

No Article Processing Charges (APCs) are applied.
